Excursions

Once you have all of this together, you'll be ready to run on your first excursion.  Try to choose one close to home, and make it a shorter excursion on fairly level trackage.  Don't try BC Rail or the Great Smokey Mountain the first time out;  you'll be out of your league and the excursion coordinator won't be happy with you.  There are plenty of short, flat runs around the country where you can get your feet wet and gain experience.
