FOR SALE (Jul 14, 2024) New Hampshire - What do you need 1st – An Intercom System or a Mobile Radio ??? - If you equip your Railcar with an Intercom + two aviation style Noise Canceling Headsets, you will “protecting” your hearing from the high noise level of the engine + track noise, plus increasing the accuracy of communications with your riding partner ! The Intercom System actually reduces the stress of long operations sessions, plus allows you to hear the person tiding on your right side, particularly when you are about to cross a highway. (Two pairs of eyes are much better than one at crossings, to help announce unseen vehicles !)
In my experience, the installation a complete Intercom w/ Noise Canceling Headsets would be my First Priority ! Noise Canceling Headsets are of extra value when riding in any Railcar that has a 2 cycle engine, as the ambient audio level is usually quite high. BTW – I have portable Intercoms that can operate off an Internal Battery – excellent for 2 cycle cars that have 6 volt systems !
Having an installed Radio is also of value, especially on multi-day excursions, however many railcar owners only occasionally operate on longer excursions ! With a Mobile Radio installed in your Railcar, you will be able to hear essential communications from the Excursion Coordinators and others regarding the current location of the Excursion Railcars. You will also be able to hear safety messages about conditions on and along the track (tree down at MP81.7, trespassers after the sharp curve at MP93.3 or very poor sight-line at the Clover Street road crossing). You will also be able to advise the E.C.'s of any changes, such as a mechanical problem or any emergency situation.
I have a selection of economically priced, reconditioned Aviation Intercoms and Noise Canceling Headsets from several manufacturers. I would be delighted to Quote the price of an complete Intercom System with two Noise canceling Headsets. Note – it may be possible to add a Receive Only function to an existing Intercom system at a reasonable price

All of my MOTOROLA mobiles undergo a complete mechanical + electrical inspection prior to being reprogrammed with the three NARCOA Channels and seven NOAA Weather Channels. The ASTRO SPECTRA, MCS-2000 and CDM-1550 radios are also programmed with all 97 AAR Analog Channels. All radios ship with a complete accessory group, consisting of a Radio Bracket, Hand Microphone + Hang-Up Clip, External Speaker, Power Cables and an EZ-Mount Antenna with pre-attached coaxial connector. I include an Installation Guide that I have specifically written for the railcar environment.
I have a selection of reconditioned Aviation Intercoms and Noise Canceling Headsets to make your trips more enjoyable and less stressful. BTW - I also produce a series of Interface Boxes to connect most Motorola Mobile radios to standard Aviation Intercoms.
Please inquire regarding price and delivery of a Mobile Radio, Aviation Intercom, Headsets or replacement parts. Note – It is possible to start with just an Intercom for 2 people and later add a Mobile Radio for full communications with the excursion. Also Note: I do not sell or support Portable Radios, due to their very limited transmit range and battery capacity. Also, I do not repair or program “Other Brands” of mobile radios, as I do not have the required software, cables and experience to work on non-Motorola radios.

FOR SALE (Apr 30, 2024) California - MT-19 AA FOR SALE - MT-19 AA car in original as built condition. Engine is a RKB 2 cylinder , 2 stroke water cooled engine.
Engine was recently overhauled with new sleeves, piston rings, seals and shims. Has been mounted in the frame but the installation was never finished.
It is still wired as an original positive ground, 6 volt electrical system. It will need a battery since the one I have in there is about 10 years old.
It is still has the original generator charging system.
The exhausts system was changed from a single muffler to dual mufflers and spark arresters.
The brakes and wheels are in good shape.
It has been kept under a aluminum car port and also covered with a fitted canvas cover that will go with the car.
In 1998 the entire frame and chassis was refurbished, painted and had new seals and glass installed. The seats need cleaning but they are not cracked. split or broken.
It was fully NARCOA complaint when last run on the V & T in Nevada and has the required handles to turn the car.
Located in N. Calif. and can be inspected with notice.
