In the hole for Amtrak Vermonter at Brattleboro

Amtrak heads south clearing the track for us to continue to White River Junction

Passing parked cars north of Brattleboro

Springfield VT Station, now a building supply

Lots of covered bridges along the route

The bridges are of many styles and colors

View from the rails south of White River Junction

Freight crew working to the south

After 110 miles the White River Junction Station looks very inviting

Locked down for the night at White River

Getting set for 120 miles to St Albans on day 2

Early morning fog burned off quickly

Long runs between crossings were the standard

Crossings were few but generally well equipped

In the hole on day 2 for Amtrak again S Royalton, VT

S Royalton Station, now a bank

S Roylaton classic New England town, home of Vermont Law School

Lots of bridge crossings, up to 250 ft plus high!

Every little town became an event when we arrived

Make up your own caption

Flagging a busy crossing

Three section truss bridge, plate says 1923

Day 3 we head to Lake Champlain for lunch cruise

In the hole for a working freight between Essex Jct and St Albans

Heading home on Day 3 Georgia Bridge

Covered bridges to each side of this intersection

Day 5 heading out, Ernesto just drizzle

Amtrak passes at S Royalton 60 mph!!!
